Hebrews 10:22 AMPC
Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.
As we begin the new year with the 40 day Anchored Fast and purify ourselves, we are including a water challenge throughout the entirety of the fast to not only stay hydrated, but to also keep all of our bodily systems functioning optimally and habituating ourselves with healthy patterns. We are predominantly made up of water and every person has an ideal amount of daily water intake required in order to sustain normal bodily functions such as detoxification and ideal mental clarity.
To make this easier I suggest to use a water app such as My Water which calculates the amount of water you should be consuming on a daily basis according to your weight and/or height. It is an approximation, as when you are physically active exercising, you want to add a bit more to replenish water loss during activity. It will send you reminders throughout the day to drink more water which makes it easy to keep track. Once you have reached your daily water intake requirement it will also notify you.
You can include drinks such as fresh pressed juice, herbal tea and water as daily water intake. Drinks like coffee and black tea don’t count because it dehydrates the body from the caffeine.
Water is the very substance that maintains us alive physically, and once you become accustomed to staying hydrated and reaching for water instead of sugary drinks, you’ll notice significant changes in how you feel. If you’re not used to drinking water, you can add natural flavors by adding fruits like berries and cucumbers with mint, or squeezing lemon juice into it for extra detox benefits and REAL vitamin water.
To add extra engagement feel free to share or post about your water intake accomplishments to encourage each other as a family that we can do it!
