Where should I start studying?
When one takes on the name “Christian”, it literally means “little Christ”. Jesus is the One by which we gain salvation through and the One by which we are to model our life after! He was the PERFECT example of living how we were created to live, so it makes sense to study His teachings and read the recorded events in the Bible that share about Jesus’ works while here on earth.
"Whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked."
1 John 2:6 ESV
"Therefore be imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father].
And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a [a]slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance."
Ephesians 5:1-2 AMPC
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are all eye-witness accounts of Jesus’ disciples (close followers and friends) that we find in the New Testament of the Bible. In these four Gospels (Good News accounts), we read about the birth, purpose, teachings, death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour. It is of utmost importance to know about the One you are identifying with. The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are a great place to start studying as a born-again believer of Jesus Christ!
“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.”
